Cohorts

Do you want to walk with a true friend while walking with Jesus?

Some get to the point of feeling so blessed that they can say “I have enough friends.”  Others get so capable that they like the idea of helping others and don’t need (or want) others’ help.  Still others gain so much confidence that they feel independent and think “all I need is Jesus.”  These can be good things.  But is even better to be had.

Our cohorts are designed to help you relate to God through interacting with brothers and sisters-in-Christ.  Sometimes the experiences will be fun.  They usually are, when celebrating with other members of the body.  Other times, it will be downright challenging.  We might suffer worse because of someone else, or even hurt one another by accident (1 Cor 12:12-26).

But these can be embraced when we share a commitment to seeing one another the way that Jesus sees us.  Especially when it’s hard and requires personal humility to face oneself, and interpersonal empathy to hear the other.  That is the only way that we can then begin to treat one another the way that we would treat Jesus (Matt 25:40).  Then maybe, just maybe, we can become a little wiser (Prov 13:20).
